Visitor Berthing

Visitor Berthing is available for boaters who are enjoying all the delights that the D’Entrecasteaux Channel has to offer.

Visitor berths are available on a “first in first served” basis and we do not take bookings. If a berth is empty you are welcome to take it unless there is a sign

For boats up to 18M there are numbered pens at the northern end of the attenuator. For boats over 18M in length or if all the pens are occupied, please tie-up alongside the straight section at the southern end of the attenuator.

Visitor Berth rates can be found here

A video showing the approach to the visitor pens is available down below.

A map of the marina showing the main features and casual berthing areas is available here

The popular Seawall Café is located within the Marina and we are adjacent to the Oyster Cove Inn and are a short walk from a general store, cafés and takeaway food shops.

There is a limited bus service to Hobart.

    • If you are staying for the free 3 hrs and fill your water tanks we would appreciate a small payment as all water to this facility has to be trucked in. Please pay $5.00 for each 100 litres taken or part thereof. This can be placed in the Honesty Box outside office hours.

  • The Fairway to access Oyster Cove Marina is situated on the southern side of Little Oyster Cove between the moorings and the Bruny Island Ferry Terminal.

Please observe the 4 knot speed limit within the Fairway.

As seen in the video below, after passing the Ferry Terminal, proceed towards the end of the Fairway and turn to starboard when you reach the outer attenuator wall of the Marina.

There are fifteen pens at the northern end of the attenuator. V2 – V4 will accommodate boats up to 18 metres. All other pens will take boats up to 15 metres.

Pens V2 – V6 have a strict time-limit of two days. Longer term stays in other pens can be arranged with the marina office once you are here.

It is a “first in first served” berthing policy so if a berth is empty you can take it unless there is a sign specifying other arrangements.

For larger boats, catamarans or if all the pens are full, you can tie up to the southern end of the attenuator wherever space is available.

NOTE: We do not take bookings for the visitor berths. You are welcome to call us during office hours to enquire about availability but please DO NOT CALL the after- hours emergency number regarding visitor berth enquiries.

Visitor berthing is unavailable for one weekend each September due to our sponsorship of the Pipe-Opener Regatta.
